Tour Details

Discover the wonders of the Andes with our Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2D/1N. We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and begin our journey toward the Inca Trail. We will hike through lush forests, passing ancient stone paths and small archaeological sites along the way. Our guide will share stories of Inca culture, history, and traditions throughout the trek.

We will arrive at the Inca Sun Gate and enjoy breathtaking views of Machu Picchu. We will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay. During the evening, we will relax, enjoy a traditional dinner, and prepare for the visit to the citadel.

On the second day, we will wake early to reach Machu Picchu at sunrise. We will explore the iconic temples, plazas, and terraces with our guide for approximately two hours. After the guided tour, we will have free time to explore the citadel independently. We will then return by train and private transport to Cusco, arriving in the evening.

Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Cusco – KM 104 – Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 3:30 AM, and travel to the Ollantaytambo train station. We will board the train to Km 104, where we will begin the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu trek. We will cross the bridge to the RUTA 05 control point and start hiking toward Chachabamba archaeological site. Along the trail, we will pass Phuyuwachi Waterfall, observing native flora and birds of the cloud forest.

After approximately four hours of hiking, we will reach Wiñayhuayna, an impressive Inca site with terraced hillsides and stone constructions. We will continue to Intipunku (Sun Gate) for panoramic views of Machu Picchu. From there, we will descend into the citadel and take iconic photos while exploring its main areas with our guide. After the visit, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay at our hotel.

We will wake early and have breakfast at the hotel. Then we will take the 25-minute bus ride to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We will tour the main citadel with our guide for approximately two hours, exploring terraces, temples, and the advanced hydraulic system. We will have free time to explore independently or take photos.

After the visit, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes and board the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will travel by private transport back to Cusco, arriving in the evening. We will finish the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 2D/1N with lasting memories of the Andes and Inca heritage.
