Tour Details

We will start early from Cusco and travel comfortably to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. From there, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. We will enjoy scenic views of the Sacred Valley along the way. The journey will allow us to experience the Andes up close.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will prepare for our Machu Picchu Day Trip. We will ride a bus to the historic sanctuary. We will explore temples, plazas, and terraces while learning Inca history from our expert guide. We will capture stunning photos of Machu Picchu and surrounding mountains.

After our guided tour, we will have free time to explore Aguas Calientes. We will enjoy local shops, cafes, or the nearby hot springs. Later, we will return by train to Ollantaytambo and transfer back to Cusco. We will arrive in the evening, concluding our unforgettable Machu Picchu Day Trip.

Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

We will start very early between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM with a hotel pickup in Cusco. We will transfer in a comfortable vehicle to the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy. We will board the Expedition, Vistadome, or Inca Rail train to Aguas Calientes. During the train ride, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba River.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will take a short bus ride to the Machu Picchu sanctuary. We will explore Machu Picchu on a guided tour for approximately 2 hours. Our guide will explain the history, culture, and architecture of the Inca citadel. We will visit key sites, including the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and agricultural terraces.

After the guided tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes by bus. We will have free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. We can also visit the hot springs (optional, extra cost) for relaxation. Later, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Upon arrival, we will transfer to Cusco, reaching in the evening around 8:00 PM.
